| Detailed Discussion |
| |
| MANA is the acronym for the company, MarketingNewAuthors.com. It is a subsidiary of Robbie
Dean Press, a full-service, independent publishing company of almost fourteen years. |
| |
| MANA provides publishing services for authors who do not want to be connected with a publishing company or an author who is seeking a publisher. For the latter, his/her having a professionally published work is more appealing to a publishing company seeking a certain work if he/she sees that the expense of having it put together has been made. As for the former, this author does not want to give up his/her copyright. However, this author knows that different agencies do not take seriously a work that is just published by the author. So, MANA offers these authors the best of both worlds. They receive a professionally done work, can use our logo as publisher, and are still independent of MANA. He/she can negotiate freely with other publishers or distributors, if he/she wishes to do so. |
| |
| MANA provides a wide range of marketing services.
The most challenging aspect regarding one’s publication is the selling of
that publication. And the publication will not sell if very few people know
about it. No reputable marketing agency can guarantee sales. However, they
can, as MANA does, can guarantee the strong effort to make certain people
know about the book’s existence. MANA does this in a myriad of ways: exhibitions
at international book fairs, a web page on its web site, activity to help
the author get his/her work exposed at book stores and with home schools and
other appropriate agencies, to name just a few services. MANA keeps its clients
informed as to how many hits his/her web page received. This information is
included in a thorough report that is presented every 4-6 weeks. |
| |
| MANA provides distribution services. It accepts credit cards and checks on and off line. Unlike Amazon.com, MANA is more than an online store. Unlike Baker and Taylor and Ingram, it provides competitively priced marketing AND distribution services. And unlike other distributors, MANA pays the highest royalty to its authors—70%. So, whatever MANA receives, its clients receives 70% of the gross amount. MANA works to pay its clients within a three-week period of receiving payment for a publication. |
