This book is in commemoration of the upcoming 175th anniversary of Fowlerville, MI. With the highs and lows of the economy, this community has survived because of its citizens. This book chronicles the contributions of its citizens, citizens who have been dedicated to the community. Beginning with 1836, a reader will learn how a “band of only a few settlers persevered so Fowlerville could become what it is today.” Although the work’s focus is only this community, this book should garner the interest of more than its residents and friends. This book is for the historian who enjoys learning about small Midwestern enclaves. The plethora of original photos and thorough research will keep any reader fully engaged.

An Early Toll House

The Northwest Quadrant of the town in 1925
Portrait of Ralph Fowler
Marion Cornett with her husband moved to Fowlerville in 1998. Both wanted to live in a small town. After becoming settled Ms. Cornett began studying the history of the village. She became fascinated. And the more she read, the more interested she became. She became determined to share what she was learning with many in the community. And with the upcoming anniversary of the community, she could think of nothing more appropriate. By profession, Ms. Cornett owns her own embroidery company, McDesigns. In a unique way her talent as an embroiderer relates so well with the production of this publication. Just as she interweaves fabric together develops unique designs, she has done the same with this publication. She has pulled together the fabrics of history of the community and developed the beautiful textual/photo designs of The Fowlerville Chronicles.
