This beautifully-illustrated work is about a delightful little boy named
Jadyn. A very special present from a dear aunt makes it possible for him to
travel. It is a very special bottle that contains liquid in which he can
blow bubbles. These bubbles are not ordinary. One of the bubbles contains a
very different place than where Jadyn is; it is India! The bubble bursts.
Jadyn is drawn into the wonderful world of India! Jadyn, about aged nine,
meets another little boy in India who becomes his friend and guide. This
delightful work teaches the reader about the customs and sights of this
beautiful land. And for those who prefer to listen to the story or have
someone to read along with, a CD accompanies the book.
Bridgette Benchimol has a background in Journalism and Sociology. Being born
and raised in Paris, her first career as a freelance journalist and
photographer began in Paris. For the past fourteen years, she has lived in
Los Angeles, CA where she has studied Early Childhood Educaton at UCLA and
directed the Berlitz Language Center in Beverly Hills. She has traveled to
more than twenty-five countries and speaks three languages fluently. Her
passion for exploring cultural differences has motivated her to begin the
Jadyn series. This particular work is the first of the books of that series.
The author finds fiction--like travel--a fun, interactive way for children
and adults to learn about different cultures. And so, Jadyn is a wonderful
way in which she is able to implement the benefits of fiction in helping
many learn about different cultures, in this case--India. |
