     About The Book

Although this narrative focuses on Calvin-Joe, a Jamaican, who comes of age in the United States, there are other characters, Ma Lou and Lucy-Mae, to name a few, who, also, add to the story. They are well-developed. And so, besides the dreams of the protagonist, Calvin-Joe, readers see how the dreams of other characters are developed. Some come true; others are deferred. This is an excellent piece for academic use as a demonstration of character development and clear storylines. For casual readers, they will not be disappointed. The author draws from West-Indian dialect. This method provides authenticity and believability. Academic or casual, readers will be engaged from beginning to end.
